Gynaecology Fibroid Laparoscopy Fertility Myomectomy

Chief Complaint / Presenting Problem

Heavy menstrual bleeding causing severe anaemia, abdominal fullness, and 2 failed IVF cycles. Multiple fibroids detected on MRI.

Diagnosis

Multiple Uterine Fibroids (largest 8 cm), Submucous + Intramural, Secondary Anaemia

Treatment & Procedure

Laparoscopic myomectomy with removal of 6 fibroids. Blood-saving techniques used. Uterus reconstructed in multiple layers. Haemoglobin corrected pre-operatively with IV iron therapy.

Outcome & Result

Menstrual cycles normalised within 2 months. Haemoglobin 12 g/dL at 3 months. Natural conception at 8 months post-surgery. Delivered healthy baby at 38 weeks.
