At DoctorParcha, we respect your right to control your personal data. This policy explains how you can request deletion of your data, what we delete, and what we are required to retain for legal and medical purposes.


1. Your Right to Data Deletion

You have the right to request that we delete your personal information held in our systems. This right is subject to certain exceptions described below.

2. What Data We Hold

Depending on how you use our platform, we may hold:

  • Account information (name, email address, phone number)
  • Medical and health records (diagnoses, prescriptions, lab results)
  • Appointment history
  • Billing and payment records
  • Pre-consultation questionnaire responses
  • Uploaded documents and reports

3. How to Request Deletion

You can submit a data deletion request in any of the following ways:

  1. From your account: Log in → Profile → Account Settings → Request Data Deletion
  2. By email: Send a request to privacy@doctorparcha.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and your registered email / mobile number
  3. By contacting the clinic: Visit or call the clinic where you registered and request in writing

4. Verification

To protect your data from unauthorised deletion, we verify your identity before processing any deletion request. Verification may involve a registered email or mobile OTP, or a government-issued ID for records involving minor patients or third parties.

5. What Gets Deleted

Upon a valid request, the following data is permanently deleted within 30 days:

  • Your login account and profile information
  • Contact details (email, phone, address)
  • Pre-consultation questionnaire answers
  • Appointment notes not required for billing
  • Uploaded personal documents (photos, reports)

6. Data We Are Required to Retain

Certain categories of data cannot be deleted due to legal, regulatory, or medical obligations:

  • Medical records: Retained for 3–7 years as required by applicable health regulations
  • Billing and financial records: Retained for 7 years for tax and audit compliance
  • Prescription records: Retained as required by pharmacy and medical regulations
  • Insurance / TPA claims: Retained until claims are fully settled

Where we are required to retain data, we anonymise your account to the greatest extent possible while preserving legally required records.

7. Deletion Timeline

8. Third-Party Data

If your data has been shared with third parties (e.g., insurance companies, laboratories, or referral hospitals) as part of your medical care, we will notify them of your deletion request. Those parties are governed by their own data retention policies.

9. Consequences of Deletion

After your data is deleted:

  • Your account will be permanently deactivated and cannot be restored
  • You will lose access to your appointment history, prescriptions, and lab reports on this platform
  • Any active appointments may be cancelled (you will be informed in advance)
