Chief Complaint / Presenting Problem

Severe headache, blurred vision, and dizziness for 2 days. Never on treatment for blood pressure despite being told to start 3 years ago.

Diagnosis

Hypertensive Emergency with Early Signs of End-Organ Damage (LVH, Grade III Hypertensive Retinopathy)

Treatment & Procedure

IV labetalol infusion for controlled BP reduction in ICU. Converted to oral antihypertensives over 48 hours. Cardiac and renal evaluation done. Lifestyle counselling.

Outcome & Result

BP 130/85 at discharge. No stroke or cardiac event. Regular follow-up established. BP well-controlled at 6 months on single tablet. Patient compliant with medication.
